The Sterling Chamber

Amsterdam

A private student society centred around finance, investing, and the wider economic and political forces shaping markets.

The Sterling Chamber is a highly private student society for university students with a serious interest in finance, investing, and financial markets. Broader themes such as politics, macroeconomics, geopolitics, business, and current affairs are approached insofar as they shape markets, risk, and opportunity. The Chamber convenes once a month for a formal evening meeting held in a private room at a carefully selected venue. Each evening revolves around one designated theme and is conducted in a serious, business-oriented setting. Business formal attire is required, drinks are served throughout the evening, and each meeting concludes with informal drinks. Membership is limited to twelve selectively chosen members. Applicants are first assessed on the basis of academic results and CV, after which selected candidates receive confirmation that they have been invited for a short interview.Given the private character of the Chamber, only limited information is made public at this stage. Further details regarding the society, its structure, and its setting are shared only as part of the application process and with those proceeding further in selection.Confidentiality forms an essential part of the Chamber. All discussions are treated as strictly off the record, and what is discussed within the room remains within the room.Successful applicants will be offered membership subject to an admission fee upon acceptance.
